The next day we went to a local beach called Salt Creek (because it was where salt creek fed into the Strait of Juan de Fuca). The kids had fun splashing in the water, while I had fun taking pictures of sea urchins and such. It was fun:

We wore ourselves out, and just hung around the resort for the rest of the heat wave, but a few days later we headed out for Cape Flattery. It ended up being a much longer drive than anticipated (the road was so curvey we could only go like 25 mph!), but it was totally worth it! The hike in was gorgeous, and the views of the lighthouse and ocean when we got there were breathtaking! I highly recommend it!

Anyway, we enjoyed the full week there, and on the way home decide to ferry over to Seattle and go from there. The kids had a blast on the big boat, and as we were coming into Seattle, The Blue Angels were flying over (for some festival or something) and it was such a cool view. The pics just didn't do it justice!

Anyway, on the drive home, there was a beautiful sunset somewhere over Oregon, so I threw this pic in for fun!
Sorry this is the abridged version of our trip, but hey, I'm tired and I want to go to bed. Just be happy I'm posting! :)

Sounds like tons of fun! Someday (hopefully) we'll go on a real vacation. Burke has always liked this area, so he was a bit jealous of you guys. Maybe we'll ALL have to go back there sometime.
Wish I could have been there too. I love the northwest. So glad you got to make the memories.
I tripped the Wash/Ore coastline in April, hence the ocean art cards. Isn't it amazing? When I'm rich and famous I'm buying a summer house on there!
I love Washington! What great pics!!!
