Mid week we went to Disneyland and California Adventure. Again, we all had a blast! Jacob discovered rollercoasters, and loved them! He didn't understand why he couldn't ride the big one with daddy. As far as he was concerned, he was big enough to ride everything. Kiersten even enjoyed the carousel, so that was cute! Jacob and Kiersten both got to see Mickey and Minnie mouse. It was priceless!
While we were out there, we made a little stop at Laguna Beach. I was hoping to spend longer on the beach (since I LOVE the ocean), but it was better than not stopping at all. Jacob got drenched chasing waves, he didn't want to leave! Kiersten loved to watch the ocean, but did not like putting her feet in the water.
Towards the end of the trip, we went on a Tram ride. The tram went from about 2000 ft. elevation to about 8500 ft. elevation. It was pretty cool! We climbed over 1 mile in elevation, and the tram itself spun 360 degrees as you go up, so you get an awesome few the whole way up! The tram swayed after it went over the towers, and Jacob just thought that was awesome! Up top, there were hiking trails, a cafe, etc. We want to go back and actually camp up there, but that's for another trip.
On the way back, we stopping in Vegas and took the kids to see The Shark Reef at Mandalay Bay. It was pretty cool. We of course had to hit a buffet while we were there, and I always eat way too much food when we do that, but I love food!
In the middle of the vacation, James surprised me with dinner (for our anniversary that was on the 2nd). My mom watched the kids while we went to this awesome resataurant called Melvyns. It was all so elegant. I don't think I've ever eaten at that formal of a restaurant in my life. I was worried it was going to be super expensive, but it was very reasonable. My hubby is such a sweetheart! I still can't believe we've been married 6 years now! Man the time flies! And by the way, I totally recommend taking your mother along on vacation. She had her own room and everything, but it was nice that she helped with the kids so much. She'd hang back with the baby while we'd take Jacob down slides and stuff. It was awesome! And she seemed to enjoy herself too! Thanks mom! In our spare time, we enjoyed swimming in the pool at the resort, eating at local restaurants, shopping, etc. We all didn't want to leave to come home, but all good things must come to an end. Now we just can't wait until next years vacation. We loved this one so much, as soon as we got home, we booked our trip for next year (Washington). Anyway, there were tons more cute pictures, but if I posted them all, you'd never get through them all.

I cannot believe how big Jacob is getting! He looks so tall.
Sounds like you had a great vacation. Instead of Washington, maybe you should come to Dallas next year ... well, maybe not. It's way too hot here and there isn't anything fun to do like the ocean and stuff.
LYLAS!
Looks like such a good time! I am so glad that you could get away. Jacob looks so happy in those pictures! I love it.
JEALOUS! About the Disneyland part at least. Well, the Vegas part too. Ok, the whole vacation. Sounds like so much fun. And I agree about the Mom's on trips. I have loved taking our parents on vacations with us. Glad you had fun!
